Postponed travel with the Arena Travel Group

As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic we are postponing all Arena Travel holidays until the end of June.  If your holiday is affected by this we will have been in touch, or will be very soon, to discuss alternative dates of travel.   Until the end of June we are also operating a reduced team to deal with imminent and future travel arrangements.  During this time we would appreciate your patience as call and response waiting times may be longer than we would like.

For holidays departing from July 1st onwards we will be making decisions whether we are able to operate at 4 weeks prior to the planned departure date.

We are naturally disappointed that we are unable to fulfil our customers’ travel plans as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. We are currently facing an industry crisis of unprecedented scale, which is impacting all tour operators, transport providers and their customers. As countries have effectively closed down, the Travel Industry has had to manage arrangements for customers in destination, including repatriation, as well as for imminent travel, often at significant additional cost.

As members of ABTA we have been following their lead in the call for a temporary suspension in the Package Travel Regulations and am pleased to see that their campaign is being discussed at the highest level.  The policy states that Refund Credit Notes be allowed as an acceptable alternative to cash refunds, which will still provide the consumer protection of the original package, has now been widely adopted by most tour operators and airlines. They state that it is unreasonable for a tour operator to be obliged to refund clients when monies may well have not been recovered from the service provider such as hotels and transport arrangements. Come what may our customers’ monies are protected through the CAA’s ATOL scheme and our financial failure insurance for non-air packages as members of ABTA.  Please see this website that sets out the position very well:  https://savefuturetravel.co.uk/more-information

I would personally like to thank all our customers at this difficult time for their patience and understanding, and trust that we can all look forward to a time in the future when travel resumes.
