GARDENS OF VENICE & THE VENETO

Join Telegraph Gardening Correspondent, Helen Yemm on an exclusive, six-day, Telegraph garden tour hosted by Helen Yemm and led by Italian Garden expert, Helena Attlee.

The tour begins on a water taxi that whisks us across the Lagoon from the airport to Venice to the pretty four-star Hotel Giorgione, situated by a peaceful square not far from the Rialto Bridge. The following day we visit four gardens hidden among the streets and canals of the city and enjoy an aperitif in one that overlooks the Grand Canal itself. The next day sees us enjoying lunch on a private boat as it navigates the Brenta Canal. For the rest of the tour we are based at the four-star Hotel Majestic Toscanelli, set among the narrow streets of the old ghetto quarter in Padua, close to the vibrant market in Piazza delle Erbe. From this base we visit a fascinating variety of gardens and enjoy lunch in a number of private villas. Helena Attlee, author and Italian garden expert, will introduce the rich history of the region through its diverse and intriguing gardens.
